Nightwood Theatre:

Website Redesign

Challenge: Redesign the Nightwood Theatre website to reflect their desired aesthetic. The Nightwood Theatre’s website had been neglected for quite a while when they initially were introduced to Humber’s UX design students. They wanted the site to be more user friendly and accessible to their patrons. They came in needing a redesign of their information architecture as well as a new creative approach.

My Process

Empathize and define

Nightwood Theatre wanted a place for their customers to understand who they were when visiting their site as at the time they did not have a physical space for customers to visit. The top users of their site were artists needing to access grants and apply for positions, audience members purchasing tickets, and students seeking out information for school projects. The site needed to be both easy to navigate and easy on the eyes. They wished for the redesign to be airy, calm, powerful, passionate, and image based.

Ideate and Prototype

I came up with a few initial wireframes and did some card sorting to figure out how the information on the site should be organized.
